I've had offers to trade couches (it's a tad too big for my space) but it is SOOOOOO comfy, I can't let it go.

When I was pregnant, I moved from a studio to a two bedroom with nothing but my bed (mattress and box spring, no frame - still have them) the same night stand I'd had since I turned 13 (still have it!), a book shelf (yep - still have it) and a recliner (put a "free" sign on it last year, gone the same day). That was the total of my possessions, sans clothing and dishes.

A coworker's parents had decided to sell their house and travel for a while, so I was gifted a couch and love seat, dining room table and chairs, and a desk... all free. All were used and enjoyed until I moved to my current house, at which time they were all given away.

Yay for free furniture!Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03297935223852633164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6097301.post-1126108497935853362005-09-07T09:54:00.000-06:002005-09-07T09:54:00.000-06:00It behooves me to at least explain how I came to b...It behooves me to at least explain how I came to be in possession of these two couches. Clark and I used to work with this one dude. Long after he left the company, but still had ties there, he was going to be moving to Taiwan so he posted a list of garage sale type items in the office kitchen. I was interested in the work bench and some bookshelves, so I stopped by his condo and took a look. He also was trying to get rid of a couch, a love seat, a rack (like for camping equipment), a drafting table, and an end table. Nobody else had called for any of it, and he didn't want to hassle with a garage sale, I guess. The next evening I borrowed my Dad's pickup, and my wife borrowed her Dad's pickup, and we took it all. We offered him money, but he was just happy to get rid of it.

Not quite as inspiring as the pass-it-on couch above, I know. If you would like, you can pretend that I gave one of those bookshelves to an orphan or something.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
